Donkey’s Days Out is the trading name for Caryn Byrne, silver guide, accredited by the Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Guides (BGGAG or “The Guild”).
As a member of “The Guild” public liability insurance is in place to cover any incidents that occur as a result of the guides actions whilst guiding a tour.
Guiding a tour group is a responsible role and even more so when the participants are riding bicycles. There is interaction with other road traffic users and, when negotiating pathways, you need to be wary of pedestrians, dogs and other cyclists. Although the guide has a duty of care for their participants, the guide requires the participants to be respectful of their instructions and be aware of the actions of others in the group and in the immediate vicinity of the tour at all times.
The guide reserves the right to refuse to take a participant on a tour if it appears they are one or more of the following:
- Under the influence of alcohol
- Under the influence of drugs
- Abusive and/or disruptive
- Persistently ignoring instructions
- Putting themselves or others in danger
- Not wearing a safety helmet
- Not wearing the hi-viz waistcoat provided
- Unwell/unfit to undertake the tour
For the safety and protection of both children and adults, anyone under the age of 18 is considered a child.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The ratio of adults to children aged 12-17 must be no less than 1:2 and for children under 12 the ratio must be 1:1.
Children must use a bike/tag-a-long or child seat appropriate for their age, size and ability.
The tours are free for children under 5. Children aged 10 years and over will be charged for the full price of the tour.
